SeqNet.org - International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) partnership statement
The International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) is a non-profit, open, multi-center, international, collaborative program founded in 1998. It designed specific forms and software to easily collect data and manage the surveillance and infection control activity. It is a prospective, targeted outcome and process surveillance system in order to reduce fast and significantly the Health Care-associated Infection rates and their consequences. The INICC program is consistent with the SeqNet.org initiative’s vision to built capacity for surveillance and control of healthcare-associated infections. While INICC is focussing more on the epidemiological and clinical surveillance, SeqNet.org is focussing on microbiological and molecular surveillance. These complementary efforts underline the usefulness of such collaboration. . These complementary efforts underline the usefulness of such collaboration, representing the way how infection control practitioners, hospital epidemiologists and microbiologists should work together on a daily basis.
To include your institution as an INICC member, it is preferable to have an infection control committee, a professional to collect the clinical and epidemiological data, and a microbiological laboratory to process clinical samples.
